In a previous note I described Silispeak as “the sort of insidious, misleading, pharisaical language that springs forth from the technocratic hotbed of Silicon Valley.” To firm up my illustration I even provided a list of words that are, distinctly Sili. The list includes: Asynchronous. Democratization. Efficiency. Elites. Engagement. Luxe. Monetize. Optimize. Radical. Retention. Shareholder. Unprecedented. User. Workflow.
In this note, I’ll go through the list and provide demystified definitions of each word so that we can better understand what these Agentic-AI using, Slack message sending, “hey let’s circle back to that” saying, productivity obsessed, 9-9-6 millionaires are up to.
Asynchronous: To make progress on a shared goal or project at different times.
Democratize: A plan to eventually monopolize access to a productive tor service.
Efficiency: An obsession with removing the slow and human elements from organizational processes.
Elites: Rich people who likely inherited their money from colonizers and boomers.
Engagement: The amount of internet numbers a piece of corporate media receives during any given period of time.
Luxe: The best indicator that what you are about to consume is of the lowest quality.
Monetize: A plan to earn profit and undoubtedly ruin a product or service users have, in some fashion become attached to or dependent upon.
Optimize: An obsession with making immeasurably small process-based “improvements.”
Radical: The best indicator that what you are about to consume, is super mid.
Retention: An obsession with ensuring consumers of corporate propaganda choose to consume more corporate propaganda.
Shareholder: The people who buy stocks or in someway benefit from the financial success of an organization.
Unprecedented: The best indicator that what you are about to consume has definitely happened before.
User: The people who have become addicted to gamified slop-apps and whose data is harvest and sold to the highest bidder.
Workflow: The way in which someone goes about doing their work, completing a task, or pursing a project.
While I’m sure we could spend more time both identifying and demystifying Silispeak, I’m not sure that’s the best use of our time, why spend any more of our most precious resource treading the radioactive waters produced by the slop-bowl class? Why meticulously define the boundaries of the wasteland when we could use our sense of humanity to guide somewhere better?
