What is Middle Ground Made

Middle Ground Made, is an heirloom design studio located in Greenville, SC. Ran by Mikey Hayes, a graphic-designer and writer. I refer to the things I make as heirlooms because they're not slop, content, or products, but still need a concise way to reference the sort of work I do. I also think that heirlooms don't just appear. They're the result of a deliberate effort to produce and cherish an artifact. And finally, anything can be an heirloom, which gives me a lot of flexibility when deciding what to make.

Why is Middle Ground The Way It Is

I think Middle Ground is the way it is because it's primarily a creative outlet. There are no mangers to seek approval from here. No bean-counters to satisfy, no monolithic brand standard to appease. There's also no real goal—other than to make heirloom-inspired work. Nothin here is optimized for engagement, or a frictionless check-out experince. Middle Ground is my honest attempt at makeing things for the hell of it.
